El Diablo
The earliest reference to the El Diablo is in a 1946 book from Trader
Vic's, the Emeryville, California headquartered Polynesian themed
restaurant chain. It is one of the few tequila drinks published in that and
subsequent Trader Vic's guides. it most likely derives its name from its
brilliant red color.
